A 2-storey, air-con, non-halal Chinese restaurant well-known for its 14RM "emperor's paper wrapped chicken" - a whole, spring chicken oven-roasted and served (with gravy) in both aluminum foil and paper. A wide variety of other dishes are available, mostly costing 5 to 15 RM. Small bowl of plain rice - 1 RM. Set lunch (7.90 RM, daily 11am-5pm)- main dish+soup+ drink. Open daily 11am to 10pm, no government tax or service charge. It has 2 other outlets in JB: 47 Jalan Bayu Puteri 1/3, Taman Bayu Puteri; 70 Jalan Sutera Tanjung 8/3 Taman Sutera Utama (Skudai).

It has three signature dishes: Teck Sing Paper Baked Chicken 14RM, curry fish head 25RM, shark fins with crab meat soup 25/50RM. It also serves the following dishes - chicken, pork, fish, prawn, crab, cuttlefish, squid, bean curd, eggs, vegetables, etc. and soups. There is no government tax or service charge for all items. Air-con. Open 11:00 am to 10:00 pm daily
  • Master Yong Abalone, 39, Jln Molek 2/1, Taman Molek 81100. Tel: +6012-7089069 /+607-3526448. The first and only restaurant in Malaysia to serve whole abalones with 'kuay teow' soup dishes. A unique dish specially prepared by the 'Master Yong' chef is 'Abalone Cube Medley in Volcano Stone Pot' consisting of abalone cubes, fish maw, and seafood, then filled with steaming hot Essence of Abalone in a volcano stone pot for 19.80RM. Other signature dishes include Kuay Teow Soup with Abalone Cubes, Dry Noodles with Abalone Cubes, and Chef Recommended Mini Buddha Jump Over the Wall. Other Chinese dishes are available too. Air-con. Opens from 10:00am to 10:00pm daily.
  • Huizu Hot Wok, 27 Jalan Utama 43, Taman Mutiara Rini, Skudai (off Skudai Highway, Goodhope Hotel junction), . Halal Chinese. Oat prawns, ice-blended dragon fruit.
  • On Kee Restaurant, Permas Jaya (Opposite New Bus Stand at Permas Jaya). Various Chinese dishes in a pleasant environment with friendly waiters.
  • Kedai Makanan Mee Hoon Kueh, 56 Jalan Sutera (on the south side of this street), 600m east of the Jalan Sutera-Tebrau Highway junction. Probably one of the first vendors selling the Mee Hoon Kueh dish, serving 4 different versions costing 4 to 7 RM each, curry mee and 'Lemon honey jelly ice' cold drink. There is no government tax or service charge for all items. Air-con. Open 1230pm to 10pm Tue-Sun, closed on Mon.
  • Restoran Sing Kee, 124-126, Jalan Cengai (at the junction of this road and Jalan Meranti), Taman Melodies, 3.5km north of the CIQ. It has been serving the local community for nearly 20 years. Its signature dish is the curry fish head. It serves fish dishes, prawn dishes, squid dishes, meat dishes, vegetable dishes, spring rolls, otak-otak etc. Air-conditioned, opening hours Tue-Sun 1130am to 3pm, 5.30pm to 9.30pm, closed on Mondays.
  • Tapai Tang Restaurant. Located at the north end Jalan Meranti, Taman Melodies, 3.5km north of the CIQ. It is a well-known air-conditioned eatery serving Chinese dishes only. The menu is mostly in Chinese only. Prices of selected dishes - curry fish head 25/28 RM, salted baked chicken 20 RM, prawn fried kway teow 6 RM, Hokkien char mee 6 RM. There is no government tax or service charge. Indoor and outdoor seating. Air-con and open daily from 1030am to 430am.
  • Restoran Yi Bao, 5 Jalan Maju (across the street from Plaza Pelangi). This humble eatery offers one of the best 'mee hoon kueh' in town. In fact, this is the only dish served in the restaurant. 'Mee hoon kueh' is a popular Chinese delicacy where pieces of flour are cooked in a thick, tantalising soup consisting of meatballs, mincemeat, vegetables, fragrantly deep-fried anchovies and egg, all cooked to perfection. Noodle version is also available. Expect large crowds of office-going workers during lunch hours and it can get very crowded on weekends. Small bowl 4.50 RM, big bowl 5.50 RM. Drinks 1 to 1.80 RM. Non-halal. Open Mon to Wed, Fri to Sun 0930 to 2000, closed on Thursdays.
  • San Low Seafood Restaurant, Jalan Biru,Taman Pelangi (less than 200m from the southeastern end of this street) 80400. Tel: 07-332 3869 /334 3623. website: . Its specialties are: assam fish and steamed fish, chili and black pepper crab, fried clams, dry fried mee hoon (6/9/12/18 RM for small/medium/large/extra large plate) and a unique dessert called Teow Chew Yam (16 RM, medium only) that is cooked with a mixture of barley, pumpkins and chestnut. Meat (chicken, duck, pork etc) dishes, bean curd dishes, vegetable dishes and soups are also served here. There is no government tax or service charge. Tables and chairs underneath a giant shed, no air-con. Open daily 430pm to 1am.
  • Restoran Yong Mui, 149 Jalan Lumba Kuda. This restaurant has three stalls - beef noodles(small/big serving 7/8 RM), kueh tiao goreng/Hokkien mee 5 RM, and wantan mee(small/medium/big bowl 4/5/6 RM)/deep-fried wantan(2.50 RM per bowl)/bean curd stick soup(1.50 RM). Cold/hot drinks and cut fruits are sold here. There is no government tax or service charge. No air-con. Open daily 7am to 4pm. These premises used to operate under the name of Kedai Makanan dan Minuman Ang Kim Chwee, the three stalls (Cathay laksa, beef noodles and duck noodles) of which shifted to another bigger restaurant (Restoran Shang Ji, see below) in the adjacent building on the same side of the road at the end of 2010.
  • Restoran Shang Ji, Jalan Lumba Kuda. This restaurant has four main stalls, two of which (Cathay laksa and duck noodles) used to operate under the name of Kedai Makanan dan Minuman Ang Kim Chwee in the adjacent building on the same side of the road. Cathay laksa (small/big serving 4/5 RM); beef noodles (7 RM); duck noodles (small/big serving 4/5 RM); fish ball soup 5 RM/fish slice soup 6 or 8 RM. Bread and eggs, hot and cold drinks (kopi o 1.10 RM, limau ais 1.50 RM, etc), including beer, are also served here. There is no government tax or service charge. No air-con. Open Tue-Sun 730am to 4pm, closed Mondays. Any of the main stalls can close as early as 1pm if all its food has been sold out. The very famous beef noodle stall vendor who used to operate under the name of Kedai Makanan dan Minuman Ang Kim Chwee in the adjacent building on the same side of the road for almost four decades and for a few months in this restaurant retired and closed his stall permanently in the first half of 2011.
  • Woon Kiang Restaurant, Jalan Stulang Darat (150m southwest of the T junction comprising this road, Jalan Stulang Laut and Jalan Pasir Pelangi). It serves the famous Johor Bahru Kuay Teow Kia in which kuay teow is boiled in a herbal-like soup and served with pig offal, braised duck meat, preserved salted vegetables, braised half-boiled eggs and various types of beancurd. Closed on Sundays.
