Nagari sungai pinang is one of village in West Sumatra Province, exactly located is Kecamatan Koto XI Tarusan, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Nagari sungai pinang is border between Padang City and Pesisir Selatan along the coastal, 45 KM away from Padang town center on the south. Nagari Sungai Pinang is a small fisher village with 1867 habbitants live there and around 167 hectare wide for human ground and for entire the whole village is 1890 hectare wide. As one of village in West Sumatra, Nagari Sungai Pinang leaded by chief the village that called Wali Nagari and helped by some persons who work as vice and responsible for developing the village. Most of Nagari Sungai Pinang habbitants work as fishermen and women as farmer on the rice field, so that’s why we called Nagari Sungai Pinang famous as fisher village.

Nagari Sungai Pinang area is very perfect landscape because right front of the village is Indian Ocean and behind the village is Sungai Pinang Conservation Forest, and the white sandy beach along the coast. As a small village that far away from the city, they are rich with happiness, familiarity, friendship and so many traditional culture.

In Nagari Sungai Pinang very easy to find new family because of the people so welcome for the new comer who come and visit their village, for them it look like a present for their live that far away from modern life.

With the rich of nature, make life very interesting in Nagari Sungai Pinang. The visitor will enjoy trekking on the wild jungle in sungai pinang forest, possibility to see the wild life of wild animals such as Gibbon family, macaque, deer, many kind of birds and if you are lucky, you may see the Sumatran tiger. One of them is Marak Island use for centre of Gibbon rehabilitation project of Kalaweit Program Sumatra. Stay with them make your self know how important to keep family-ship even actually life is not like your expectation, for them be happy and smile up is important thing to survive in bad condition.
