This is a VERY remote location, so you definitely need a car, and it should be a 4x4. The roads are extremely rough (not just gravel, but significantly rutted and pitted). It took an hour to go less than 20 km. The nearest gas station is about that far away, by the way. There is a fantastic restaurant, oddly enough, called San Miguel's, that was perfect for our Valentine's day dinner. Otherwise food in the area is very limited, although we had a wonderful lunch on the beach (sorry I forget the name - maybe something with a mermaid? It wasn't much more than a shack but it was delicious - fresh fish and cold beachy cocktails and beer)! This is a location for people who want to relax and be isolated and enjoy the beach and jungle. We loved it for a few days but were ready for more action after that. HIGHLY recommend Canta La Rana for accommodations!

This is a sleepy little beach area that doesn't really have a town. Anymore time here and we would have been bored but it was nice little road trip for us and the views are gorgeous. We ate at two restaurants Loco Coco and the Pizza Tree both have nice ambiance but the food is fair. We stayed 2 nights.
