Property itself is beautiful. The common areas are lovely and the pools are amazing. Everything is immaculate.
Despite being rushed off their feet, the two guys running the bar/ restaurant were extremely nice.
The chap who gave us a tour of the hotel on arrival was really nice and helpful.
There are lots of animals that live in and around the hotel - really fun to see peacocks and coati’s just wandering around.

I had a wonderful stay - booked for 4 nights, but stayed for 8. The villas have simple, comfortable rooms, that are good value for the price. Breakfast is delicious, with specially sourced granola or eggs, and fresh local fruits. The grounds are beautiful, with peaceful path down to river and small waterfall. I was lucky to see a pair of toucans in the adjacent woods. The hosts and staff are friendly and helpful , I felt welcome and very much at home:)

Atenas is a beautiful town in the low mountains of central Costa Rica. The climate is moderate and dry. The town is very authentic and on Sundays you can find many families in the Central Park enjoying family time. The best part is that Atenas is not overrun with tourists. Cute small town. Lovely to walk from the hotel to town. There are some hills so good if you like to walk. Good to ask about restaurants or where to get good coffee. There is great coffee from Holland and sweets ay the south corner of the park & a place called Tica cafe looked good but it was closed.Weather was warm but there was a nice breeze. This is the town that we have chosen to spend our retirement in. It has all that a small town can offer including good restaurants and very friendly people. its proximity to many of Costa Ricas attractions makes it an ideal place to use as a starting point for many adventures. less than an hour to downtown San Jose, the beach, Poas volcano, and many more fun places.

Atenas is a quiet small town know for having the best climate in the world. It is an easy drive from the airport, yet away from the hustle-bustle. It does help to speak Spanish, as many of the locals do not speak English.

Also our hotel was struck by lightning and the power went out, being the highest point in the sky, can be good and bad. Nothing was done to compensate me for my stay for hours without any power. They did bring a candle to my room. I was unable to download directions to the airport because of no power and that proved to be an issue the next morning. I liked the pool. For the more hearty, walking back from Atenas is a good workout, while I took a 1700-2000 CCR cab ride back. plenty of shops to pick up snacks and food items.
