There was no mention of breakfast. Location was problematic to find as road access affected by road closures so Google maps takes you to the back where there is no access. They could provide a simple map t assist as it is a long term construction project

Middleburg, Eastern Cape, is a rural town with all the necessary amenities and is a good stop-over on your way to Gauteng
However, there is a lot of heavy iron ore trucks passing through and Middleburg is a en-route and stop over point

Middelburg is a very small and old town . There are no much to visit . Unless you're there to visit a family member or for work , I will suggest that you choose another town.
Otherwise if you want to be there for couple days , I recommend you to choose Tortelduif cottage at 41 church street. It is one of the best accomodation you could find and the hosts are great.

The town is unfortunately a classic example of a failed Municipality. There is not a road that does not have a pothole. The people we found friendly but I would much rather give the town overall a skip

The town is not very clean although our accommodation was adequate. We arrived at 5.00 pm on a four-day road trip from Cape Town to Durban and left the following morning at 8.00 am thus we had neither time nor inclination to explore the town. I walked around a little, looking for some fresh milk and cream, and it was during this time I saw how dirty the streets were and the level of poverty around.
I recommend to travellers that they choose Burgersdorp as a stopover in preference to Middelburg because Burgersdorp is exceptionally clean and most attractive.
There is a beautiful coffee shop in Burgersdorp where we had some breakfast, Hagenhuis. It is quite enchanting!

The trip into Middleburg was not so great as it was a bit dirty and rundown with quite a few potholes. However don't let this put you off. If you have booked into Celtis Country Lodge you will be pleasantly surprised. Its like an oasis in Middleburg with lovely gardens, a pool, a decent restaurant and accommodation. The property is away from busy roads, so its quite and safe. I will definitely stay there again on a trip between Jhb and Cape Town.

Good place to switch off and unwind for those with busy lives. The place forces you to slow down, something I really need. People are welcoming and friendly. Place is overall very safe.
Good restaurants will recommend Celtis restaurants, good food, good service and good vibe. Breakfast at the Stables as well was fulfilling.
A Plus when you have your own transportation, public transport not properly functioning.
