The hosting family is so nice and caring! Alondre booked us seats on the boat to Drake Bay and provided some additional useful information about the place, before we got there. Also during and after our stay, they were helpful and answered all our questions.
The room is very nice and clean and lovingly equipped. It's a big bonus, that the room has its own fridge and we appreciated the details like a big mirror, a bench, a wardrobe, enough hooks in the bathroom and an additional small towel. So far we haven't found things like that in other accomodations of that price range.

The cabins are located on beautiful grounds, and the room was simple but clean and comfortable, with a good fan. We loved having the little terrace with a hammock.
The pool area was very nice, and welcome in the heat.
The staff were helpful in arranging transfers for us and also booked us on a night tour.
We opted to have lunch on one of the days, which was delicious.

Very nice peaceful place, at the grounds of a friendly costarican family, right on the edge of the rainforest. Beautiful Ganadito beach is at walking distance. The cabin where we slept was new and fine.

The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you...
The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you must visit them with a guide for the appropriate access and to really appreciate what is there. Drake is a the ideal place from which to reach the parks. We travelled to Drake Bay by intercity bus from San Jose and connected with the ferry. The "wet landing" was a first for us - a genuine adventure where the ferry assistants wade your luggage to shore on their shoulders and the passengers just focus on getting themselves to shore. The ferry takes an hour or so through amazing mangroves. Make sure to tell your hotel to book you on the ferry to avoid misunderstanding -- there are only two ferries per day and you don't want to lose a day/night in Sierpe.
The park is amazing --book a tour well in advance as daily entries are limited. Access to the park is by boat. Birds galore, several species of monkey including the mighty howler, tapirs, two species of ant eater, and many more creatures. We did the snorkeling tour too which was also amazing. We saw deep sea turtles, sharks, manta rays and a plethora of species of fish. Beautiful, pristine and rules about not interrupting wildlife. For example, we were watching a turtle and she started to rise for air and we all had to move back 4-6 metres and we had the joy of then watching her float on the surface for a while and just rock in the waves. Being herself and breathing without feeling anxious

The town, while not a secret by any means, has still avoided the trappings of rampant tourisim. There is a local vibe that is genuine and refreshing.. I like that the town is still a bit rough on the edges.
The abundance of world class outdoor experiences is the icing on the cake.

It is a very peaceful place, we definitely recommend it.
It is a very peaceful place, we definitely recommend it. Beautiful walking trail to san josecito, magnificent view, good restaurants (kalaluna & coco cafe), a lot of activities. You have access to the Corcovado NP, waters are calmer than most beaches in costa rica (good for swimming). Snorkeling tour to cano was great!

It is a very remote, relaxed place.
It is a very remote, relaxed place. Great to experience the simple life. There is a beautiful hiking trail along the coast line to more secluded beaches. Many activities to be done from the beach, including day trips to Corcovado national park, night tours, snorkelling trips.
The beach itself is not amazingly beautiful- it’s not pristine white sand and clear waters- it has a very rustic feeling and there are no beach bars. But there are places to eat just up from the beach or grab a drink from the supermarket. We saw a lot of wildlife! Scarlet macaws are flying around. There’s a nice restaurant called Lookout restaurant with good food and a great view over the bay.

In Drake there is Corcovado Park, snorkeling, scuba diving...
In Drake there is Corcovado Park, snorkeling, scuba diving and a public trail at the end of the beach to hike. 3 - 4 days is sufficient. Would take boat in from Sierpe, not drive in. The road is 25 km of NOT maintained gravel road, so potholes. NEED. 4 x 4 to get into town.
This is a very quaint hotel with attached restaurant just outside of Drake Bay (emphasis on outside- a taxi is $12 to town or you could drive your own vehicle about 5-10 min). The food at the restaurant is delicious, the owners and staff and friendly, and the rooms are comfortable. They can arrange a variety of tours, including overnights in the park (you need to pre-book). We did a snorkeling trip to Caño Island and were very happy! FYI you get a discount if paying for excursions in cash because of card fees.
Location was fantastic. Nature lover's paradise. Service was beyond excellent. Presentation of every meal was phenomenal. Food and drinks were excellent and management made every effort to make our stay as comfortable, enjoyable and memorable as possible. Watched dozens of red Macaws, green parrots, and other birds. Heard howler monkeys though couldn't see one. Great view of Drake Bay and and Cano Island (in the distance), and we were lucky to watch a very nice sunset across the bay. Swimming pool was lovely.
If you are looking for a stay in the wild, remote, quiet with an amazingly friendly staff, then Corcovado Adventures is for you. You will not be in Drake Bay, but in Tent Camp, which is a little bit further away by boat than Drake Bay. Hence you don't have other hotels around you or restaurants. While you can go to Drake Bay it is a 1h walk. Saying this, there is a restaurant onsite and the food is delicious! We had such an amazing time, the staff even put on some music and danced with us. I recommend!
Mohagine Hotel was incredible, it was in a beautiful location and with so much to see and do! when I arrived at the hotel there were monkeys right there so we stood and watched them from a distance to not scare them away! Olman was wonderful and met me at the beach when I arrived by the boat taxi from Sierpe and he helped organise everything for me that I wanted to do including diving and a tour or Corcovado national park! I can't wait to return to Drake's bay, it is beautiful and so is this hotel!
With a perfect location at 10 min by foot from the beach and the center of the village, while being situated in the middle of nature, this place really deserves its name! The hosts are very considerate, and they helped us in everything to make our journey the best stay ever: driving us from the beach to the hotel, booking the boat and tours for us, even lending us some cash because we ran out of it (be careful, no ATM in Drake Bay!). We could not have imagined a better experience in Corcovado!
Finca Maresia is a wonderful, friendly place to stay. Incredible value for money. The rooms are modern, spacious and clean and set in the trees in the forest sounding Bahai Drake thus enabling incredibe views of wildlife and birds, especially first thing in the morning. Mark and the staff were attentive, enthusiastic and welcoming, including coming to pick us up in a thunderstorm. This was one of my partner and my favourite stays during our 3 week honeymoon.
I love the location away from the busy areas in Drake Bay but at a popular beach that people hike hours or take a boat to get to, the purpose behind the hotel (turtle project), the food is really good, the value is great. Recardo is a very nice man and everyone working there is friendly and helpful. Cheap tours available of the Rio Claro. You get to experience being immersed in the jungle and at night can hear the jungle and waves crash on the beach.
the staff was very nice and helpful during our stay. They came to pick us up to the beach when we got to Bahia Drake, which was very helpful. The hotel is very nice, with a common area with hammocks and seating area and the room was spacious and clean. We did a stay in Corcovado for a night afterwards and they kept our luggages during that night with no charge and they took us down to the beach to take the boat back to Sierpe afterwards as well.
Great hotel in Drake bay, just a 5 min walk to the main beach. Spacious room, feels very new, great shower and bathroom. The breakfast was very tasty. The Pool is also very nice. Very friendly and helpful staff, organised a Taxi from the airport und when leaving with the boat to Sierpe they brought us to the beach so we dont have to carry our stuff.
Would definetly come again, everything was perfect.
What an amazing experience. Toucans, parrots, macaws, and monkeys right outside the window. Lovely pool area and a great little hammock section to relax. I didn’t get to eat at the restaurant, but the food looked and smelled amazing. FABULOUS. My favorite out of all hotels I’ve stayed at. There’s such a huge patio with incredible views of the sunset and sunrise. The most relaxing place I stayed in CR
Casa el Tortugo is in a great location in Drake's Bay, very close to the see but in a quieter area. Great bird life in the grounds. Teresa and her family and staff were great - they booked our boats and tours for us and did early breakfasts. Rooms were very spacious (we had 2 triples for 4 of us). The restaurant was also excellent and well priced. AC was a must!!
A short walk to the beach, and lots of great restaurants nearby. Jacamar arranged our transportation in/out of Drake Bay for us in addition to booking a wonderful snorkeling tour. Our room was large, comfortable, and clean with a lovely balcony. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent, reasonably priced facility in Drake Bay. Fantastic staff, good breakfast, easy walking to mini markets and good eating places. Hosts are very accommodating helping organize some fantastic tours in Corcovado National Park.
Hotel in the middle of the jungle very nice located. Breakfast was great! Be aware of the monkeys while you eat. :-) But it´s quite funny and cute. Rooms clean and quite big and with good beds and mattresses. Very friendly staff.
Casa Horizontes is a bit rustic but wonderful. Pedro and Yami, the owners, couldn’t be nicer. We felt like family. The location above Drake Bay is spectacular. Pedro builtthe place himself and it has a hand crafted feel.
Balcony with amazing view of the sea and bird life
Comfortable bed
