It s in the jungle and you see all kinds of birds and animals. The pool in the midst of it all is refreshing. The owner was kind to not charge the fee when we shifted the date. We appreciated that.

There was a whiteboard in front of our cabin and the key was in the door, ready for us to open.
What we didn't like are suggestions to make the place a number 10!
We loved staying here, kitchen was good enough for the 4 days and the pool was well maintained and nice to cool off in. Small place made for a more social setting with everyone talking to each other. An easy walk to Super Chico store where we could get supplies.
We would definitely come back and hope that suggestions are looked at for next time.

Amazing garden with beautiful wildlife, the airconditioning and pool were really nice to have with the high temperature, friendly hosts. The kitchen has all the basics. You will need a 4x4 to get to the accommodation.

Great place to relax and unwind in nature. You have everything you need to cook and chill in a relaxed air conditioned environment with hammocks outside. During my stay there were horses and deer roaming outside, with the sounds of monkeys and other wildlife. Also near the nature reserve and Isla de Cabuya for excursions. Highly recommended.

Cabuya, located in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica, is a charming small beach town that is situated near the Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve. It is often compared to the rural beach communities of the country before the 1990s tourism boom, which means that it has a less developed tourist infrastructure and offers a more authentic Costa Rican vacation experience. If you're looking for some peace and quiet, Cabuya is the perfect place to be. While nearby beaches like Mal Pais, Montezuma, and Santa Teresa are great for surfing enthusiasts.

There isn't much to do in Cabuya other than the cemetery...
There isn't much to do in Cabuya other than the cemetery island and the reserve for hiking. We did walk the beach which was rocky but saw a lot of wildlife. Not much available to eat. We spent more time in Montezuma. Cabuya is a nice day trip.BoothUnited States

Matt and Cece (the owners) are the nicest people, the staff are all really friendly and accommodating, the food is amazing and the location is a 10/10. Suggest renting transportation (car, atv, moped) in order to go to montezuma/Santa teresa and to beach hop/explore. I’m a luxury traveler that typically would not stay at a hotel without a/c but this was not a problem at calala at all as it’s comfortable in the room with the ceiling fan and windows open. Will definitely be back to this hotel!

We chose this hotel for it’s a rescue center and we wanted to help this project ( aras’ reinsertion, caring for orphan monkeys,…). The pool was welcoming after a long journey or hike.
