Dullstroom as a town was extremely safe. We even walked down to the local pub and back in the dark without any fear of crime. The manager was very helpful and unbiased in giving us advice as to where the best places are to eat dinner and breakfast. Fabulous accommodation run very well. Very good value for money.

Dullstroom is really lovely for a weekend away or a stopover from the Kruger area.
There are lovely shops and fantastic restaurants. The people are super friendly and its easy to walk around and discovery little things.
Mrs Simpsons restaurants is fantastic and the hosts are amazing. We also had wonderful meals at the MayFly, Baker Brothers, The Waffle Shop and, of course, Harries Pancakes.
It can get cold there but in general, all the places are kitted out for this and are warm and cosy.
In all honestly, the meals and curios are not cheap and some stores feel a bit like tourist traps but then again, no one is forcing you to purchase anything so it's up to your budget how much you spend. But don't expect a cheap little town.
The drive from Johannesburg is quite pleasant as most of the roads are actually in fantastic condition ... BAR the small drive through Belfast. So sorry for that little town ... the roads are terrible.
Oh ... be careful of cows and goats on the road. A cute sight but can be dangerous, especially on a misty morning.
Always happy for a little trip to Dullstroom!

Quaint and quiet village once you leave the main road with its cheek-by jowl shops, restaurants and bric-a-brac outlets. Beautiful countryside to explore once you leave the town. A few very expensive shops some of which sell quite a lot of imported products ...why? A few more affordable options for fly-fishing in terms of catch-and-keep options would be appreciated. More locally manufactured and produced products would have been appreciated e.g. why do all fruit sellers, sell exactly the same fruit coming from Limpopo Province!

The town closes on a Tuesday and some shops stay also close until their is more people in the town... Weird. Whiskey tasting can only happen when there is a big group of people, I completely missed out on that one, even at The Highlander Hotel I was staying, I was really looking forward to do the Whiskey tasting. Sorry 😞 , make sure you are a big group for that one!!

Fantastic location.
Fantastic location. Make sure you bring Doom spray as flies are continuous. Fellow guests that did not stay in the superior villas were complaining of sloppy housekeeping and really poor building maintenance. The restaurant next to reception has really poor attention to service and many guests complain of inattentive staff and poor quality food.

Dullstroom is a quaint little town, it is the ideal spot to rest and rejuvenate. there are plenty of small little shops and plenty pubs and restaurants. If you love whiskey there is a perfect whiskey tasting venu (Wild about whiskey). The same with gin (Dullstroom Gin).
There is an abundance of fly fishing dams and plenty horse riding venues.
There is plenty to keep you busy for a couple of days.
The accommodation was cozy, yet spacious. Everything was perfect! The house is well organised and all little details are taken care of from complementary milk in the fridge, to a bag of wood for the fireplace upon arrival. We were also surprised with a bottle of sparking wine for our birthday celebration. You literally do not have to bring anything extra. Just pack your clothes and come - shampoo, lotions, body wash and hairdryers are all provided. It felt like a cosy hotel house.
The perfect country-side location with views of endless mountains, vast beautiful open fields and forests. Yet close enough to the beautiful quaint town of Dullstroom to explore history and highly recommended restaurants. The Villa on the property is very well equipped, especially loved the fluffy duvet and blanket, stackdoors offering stunning frontal views, a picnic set/bag for hiking and bowl of fresh fruit. Would love to book the main Farmhouse next time for the whole family.
I had the most incredible stay at Vetho Farmhouse in Dullstroom. The view was simply breathtaking, and the farm itself felt like stepping into another world. The pool and spa were the perfect places to unwind, and the massage was pure bliss. Nanto, our host, was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, offering us invaluable tips and hiking ideas. Thank you for such a magical experience!
I really enjoyed the scenery on the property (beautiful dams and hills) and the activities offered. The 1-hr horse riding around the property is a great way to explore the area around the hotel. I also recommend the hiking trail on the mountain, where I spotted zebras and other game. The dinner menu, which changes every day, positively surprised me.
The house is stunning, and has views to die for. The house is at the very tip of the estate, with no immediate neighbours and a clear view into the surrounding mountains. There is ample fishing available on the estate, and Dullstroom is a mere 10 mn away.
Beautiful location. Excellent host. Lovely walks and good fishing dams. Close to town but remote enough to be peaceful.
Lovely fires in the evening and co.st atmosphere for a large group. Spacious rooms. Lots of space for little kids to run arounnd.
We didn't book breakfast,we did self catering..location was difficult to find at first because we couldn't locate the place on the Gps but after the host collected and showed us it was not a difficult direction
The layout of the cottages and the lovely plants is absolutely amazing! Your restaurant was such an amazing experience with the best food I've eaten in a long time. Highly recommended for a stay in Dullstroom
The property was situated toward the back of Dullstroom within easy walking distance of the dam. The walk to and from town was a nice way to start and end the day. Mattey and Julian were great hosts.
Tranquility and great fishing for trout (brown and rainbow) and largemouth bass. Another highlight was the perfectly kept green lawn around the dams. We were all barefoot for most of the time. bliss
In the middle of Dullstroom, this brand new apartment-Hotel is super comfortable with everything you need as a couple. Suzanne our hostess is very helpful and responds to requests quickly.
The apartment was excellent and clean, with a style that very much fitted Dullstroom's largely upmarket tourism. The beds and sofas were comfortable. The units nice and clean.
The breakfast was great and the location was great. Beautiful views over the dam. Being a new hotel there is still a lot to do but it has the potential to be great.
Don't serve breakfast anymore but referred us to Dullstroom Inn Hotel
Breakfast was excellent there
We had supper there as well... excellent
