It is a quiet little town. We didn’t get to see much as we were there for a family Christmas celebration and almost everything was closed. I didn’t see any attractions that stood out for me, so I wouldn’t know what to recommend to a fellow traveller

I wouldn’t elect to visit again. We only went there for a wedding (stunning wedding venue just outside the town) but Ermelo itself is not the best kept and the trucks drive right past all the accommodation (most accommodations are in a specific road and this seems to be the main truck route, making it super difficult to sleep).

Ermelo is an OK place to stop if you are travelling from the east coast on route to J'burg or up to the Kruger area. It is a very busy town, with quite a lot of heavy traffic. There is a fairly large supermarket if you need to stock up on provisions.

We stayed in the middle of Ermelo & Chrissiesmeer which was the intension as staying in town isn't always the best option to get away from
the hustle and bustle.
We mainly visited Chrissiesmeer and the lakes surrounding it( the ones
that was accessible and not on private property mostly are on private property not accessible or 4x4 needed if you do not stay on the farm. We didn't know this so if birdwatching is what you came for try to arrange with locals to assist taking you to special lakes .The area is very scenic and driving towards Lesotho is worthwhile.

Small town but great people!
Small town but great people! I was travelling alone (female) and never did I feel unsafe in the surrounding areas and in town. People are friendly and accommodating. The town is basic - don't expect "5star streets and infrastructure". Be prepared and ALWAYS have something warm to not be caught in suddenly cold weather... the rule of 4 seasons in one day DEFINITELY apply. :) Very "laid back" vibe going!
Visit the local chain restaurants - they aren't wow but not bad either - my favorite spot for work - mainly because of the quality of WIFI was Mug and Bean in the The Oaks Center. Friendly staff and well located to get to the rest of the town within 5 minutes.
Beware the streets can be a bit "challenging" with potholes and damage to the tar but not inaccessible and they do fix them from time to time.
The host was incredible helpful and friendly. About the place itself - you have an incredible feeling of being in the middle of the real farm with the beautiful landscape while enjoying the comfort that in no way worse than in the very decent big city hotel (even better - you have your own place for the bbq, although we didn't have a chance to use it because of the heavy rain). Definitely recommended.
Beautiful cute apartment, it definitely exceeded my expectations. It was spotless and had all the necessary amenities. Ermelo is cold, especially in winter, so I enjoyed staying in a cozy warm bed and streaming my favorite shows in the lounge with the heater on. They have the most comfortable bed and couch. I definitely want to come back again to experience this place, I rested well
Absolutely wonderful experience. Hennie and Zonica made me feel so welcome and really go the extra mile for their guests. The room was stunning and very clean, equipped with a heater, electric blanket and extra blankets. The dinner and breakfast provided were definitely value for money. I would go back and stay any time again!
Small, pretty lodge in Ermelo. No frills and quite basic room but A perfect stopping place for a road trip to the south coast. Has a wonderful restaurant serving a variety of food. And very friendly and helpful staff.
We loved everything. We felt safe. Mr and Mrs Stark were welcoming and kind to us. Photos dont do this place justice. It's amazing! This is the ONLY place I will stay at when we visit Ermelo in future. We are happy.
The comfort waas excellent in a way that you'd feel you were staying at the hotel. Furthermore, the food was awesome, room service was promptly in a ridiculous way. All in all it was exciting stay. Thank u khayalami
Dinner was delivered to the room. The fillet and roast veggies for me and chicken salad for my wife was top quality....well prepared. Unfortunately serviettes and condiments (pepper & salt) were not provided.
Very well thought out rental space with all extra’s imaginable. Very comfortable bed & an interesting mix of design elements. For sure our new accommodation of choice when traveling through Ermelo.
I felt Queens Garden Guesthouse is definitely the one to stay in Ermelo. I highly recommend it.out of 4 that I've stayed at in Ermelo this one is for me
