It was beautiful but rugged and not everything is easily accessible. I would go there in a heart beat for a fishing trip, but I think there are better places to go to the beach for parents with small children.

Witsand is a quiet town and the people friendly.
Witsand is a quiet town and the people friendly. The waiter at the restaurant in town was a bit sulky. Not very friendly. You sit down, you order, you eat, you pay, you go. But the food was perfect.

This is a perfect family home, we had everything that we needed. Host was friendly and made our check in easy. Nice braai area with beautiful view of the river. Will definitely go again. Next time will try in summer. We did not eat out but drinks at Pili Pili was great.

The Anchorage Beach Restaurant was great! Oom Tekkies made us feel totally at home, he's a great host! Pili Pili also very nice with good food. It was our first time there, so using Google maps you can't get lost at Witsand. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Witsand, lovely walks along the beaches and picked up some unusual shells too.Enid - 10Scored 10

Fishing, Fishing & more fishing :) one of the best destinations in South Africa- in the river and out to sea! Best advise -any fresh caught fish -take it to Pilli Pilli restaurant -they will clean it & prepare it for you -at a fair price -comes with chips & salad -highly recommended!CaronSouth Africa
