We unfortunately booked at Elgro Hotel and it was not at all a good choice, we then visited Elgro River Lodge (another in the chain) what we found was the best place to stay, albeit 25 mins out of Potchefstroom it was magic. Staff were just amazing and our experience will have me return to their if I ever get back to South Africa
Game drive was excellent, food and service was outstanding. Super clean and staff just top notch. Could not have been more different from the town Hotel.

Riverwalk mall and surrounding areas offer good eating...
Riverwalk mall and surrounding areas offer good eating places such as wimpy, Mug n Bean, Mike's Kitchen, Nandos, Chicken Licken etc. there is also a variety of accomodation places and meeting facilities. Google maps is of great help in getting around.
Best Rest Guest House is not a place to repeat, a change in the manner of speaking to guests by the manager is required.

It was a great weekend, we started our weekend with great braai meat from black lounge in Ikageng. The Nando's drive through on Saturday was great plus the stuff was friendly. On Sunday we decided to try something and drive to the feather hill Hotel for lunch. We got lost on our way there as the GPS took us to a dead end road but we decided to follow the boards and finally got the place. Potch is a nice and neat place but the roads and street lights in the CBD not so. Google was useful in terms of places to go to and the streets are easy to remember. All in all it was amazing

I often visited this town, family of mine lives there.
I often visited this town, family of mine lives there. In 2019 the town was still nice, but now the city centre is riddled with potholes. The streets are to say the least dangerous at night as you can't see the potholes and you can damage your car.
The campsite at the dam is permanently closed and in bad condition.
Our stay at this accommodation in Potchefstroom was undoubtedly one of the best experiences we've had. Elsabe, the host, was exceptional. Everything about our stay was flawless, and it's evident that the hosts have a keen eye for perfection. The townhouse was impeccably clean and inviting, equipped with everything needed for a home-away-from-home experience. Additionally, its proximity to both a shopping centre and the university was convenient, yet it offers a peaceful retreat away from the bustling student hub.
Erica and Brent make you feel like family has arrived. So personable, flexible - great communication and HELPFUL, with ANYTHING you might need!
So NOT MISS THE BREAKFAST. Being prepared by your host in the most quint dinning area, fresh tasting and plentiful!! One of my favorite things about visiting South Africa is the breakfast and Erica, our host did not disappoint- breakfast was AMAZING!!! Thank you!
I really enjoyed my stay here. The owners were welcoming and very nice. The rooms were extremely clean & spacious. Very quite & secure. Would definitely stay here again in the future. Loved the pool though I didn't get the time to use it. I would recommend this place to anyone who would like to visit Potchefstroom & looking for superb accommodation.
The property has a potential to be a good guesthouse but the staff and owner has poor hospitality skills they were not there most of the time from the gate i had to wait for 30 min trying to get inside the property. Iv been to a lot of hotels and guesthouses but iv never had such a bad experience like this guest house it was the worst
Excellent location very close to the main NWU university main gate, restaurants, entertainment and shops. Wonderful hosts made us feel very welcome and shared very helpful information regarding the University and the town of Potchefstroom.
The staff are exceptionally well trained and focused on customer service. Feather Hill is the only place i will stay in Potchefstroom in the future. The food is excellent and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Older part of town but immaculately kept heritage house with rooms around the swimming pool. impeccable garden. Friendly staff. The BEST and tastiest breakfast of my trip.
the place was super clean. The service was the best. I checked in very late, but they welcomed me with a smile. I’ll definitely come back. The breakfast was super nice.
