Portland is a walkable city.
Portland is a walkable city. Too many wonderful restaurants for one trip!
My favorites from this trip: Fore Street Restaurant, Honey Paw, and Jing Yan. My husband loved Bar Futo and the bar at Via Vecchia.

We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine.
We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine. We usually stop at the Kittery Trading Post along our drive. In Portland we like to take in historical homes and sites like the Victorian Mansion or the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow home. There are lots of restaurants and pubs in the waterfront area. One of our favorites is the Ri' Ra' where I typically enjoy a Guinness with the fish and chips.

My work in Portland shows me a diverse striving community that is trying to care for its citizens. That diversity is revealed through exploring the shops underneath and around the "Hopeful" sculpture/sign on Forest Ave.

Best seafood ever.
Best seafood ever. Very nice restaurants and bars and excellent, friendly service in all places. Nice little interior or similar shops. Some more or less interesting galleries, interesting Arts Museum. But two full days are enough for visiting downtown Portland.
Lovely hiking trails at about 30 minutes from the town.
Rachel is an excellent host and was there to answer our questions right away. The apartment was just as described and as you see it in the pictures. It is comfortable. It's in a GREAT location for downtown Portland. Convenient to some excellent bars, restaurants and cool stores and very close to the Regency Hotel which has an excellent spa and the waterfront. The interior is cool and funky and the appliances are top notch. The beds are comfortable and the living room is perfect for hanging after a long day of dining and touring.
We've stayed at this location twice now on our visits to Rockport. The best part is that we were able to walk from the hotel into the quaint, downtown area by the water. The rooms are good, the lobby is beautiful, and the breakfast is basic continental fare. Nice place, especially for the price, which tends to be less expensive than some surrounding properties.
Room had a trendy vibe and was comfortable, clean, and spacious. It had a nice view of downtown and hotel is in a great location as far as being near to shopping and restaurants as well as close to waterfront and lighthouse areas. Housekeeping was very good and it was overall a very pleasant place to stay.
The room was smart and clean apart from the air conditioning panel which was extremely dusty. The hotel was just back from the waterfront and close to all sorts of eating, drinking and entertainment. We did not eat breakfast it was better to find brunch somewhere else.
It is classy, historic but modern, right in the center of old port. Affordable and quiet, great soundproofing. The bar below and the tables outside under the trees are added perks. They even came to pick us up from the airport. Great hotel.
This is an ideal location to walk or bike around all of downtown Portland. It was safe for me to walk at night as a woman, alone, down Market, Commercial streets, etc. I also LOVED the free shuttle service from 3:00 -11:00.
Centrally located in downtown Portland, however I specifically chose this hotel over others because it promised that it had a parking garage for guests. I didn't realize it would cost an additional $50 to park there.
The Hyatt is a great location from which to explore the Old Port section of Portland. Clean and comfortable. Free breakfast is somewhat restricted because of COVID but still satisfactory. Good value.
the open atmosphere, the little details in decorating, the friendly and helpful staff, the good location in the lower old port region of Portland making things accessible easily
Very comfortable, clean. Beds very comfortable . Very good breakfast . Excellent location with proximity to the train station. Only $6.70 for a cab ride to downtown Portland.
Portland is expensive, and downtown has no parking. So this was my best option. It's 15 mins away from everything. Had a pool and balcony that made it worth the price.
Outstanding location, right on the waterfront. Right in the heart of downtown. Comfortable room and nice breakfast in the morning. Would definitely stay here again.
Nicely situated modern hotel within the old port district. Comfortable large room with great bedding. Welcoming reception staff and pleasant staff throughout.
