Grecia was not as expected from literature I read because of it's size and amount of traffic. The main down town area was very busy with bad sidewalks which made walking the town difficult. Lovely cathedral and park and great restaurants. Local people were friendly and helpful. We ate at Los Barriles twice because the food was so delicious and very reasonably priced. La Terraza Bed & Breakfast was the nicest hotel we stayed at in the Grecia area.

Grecia is a busy town with a lovely relaxed friendly vibe and a great little park in front of the church with plenty of seating to sit and relax and take in the ambience. It is very clean. Grecia has a busy market and some great places to eat.

Grecia is a small town in an agricultural area.
Grecia is a small town in an agricultural area. It is not really a tourist destination, but is a good example of a typical small town in Costa Rica. The church is unusual because it is made entirely of metal. The other places to visit in the town are the main square and the market. There are other places to visit in the surrounding area, such as coffee plantations, sugar cane plantations and the Poas Volcano.

We were there to visit friends who moved there from the US a few years ago. So they showed us around and answered all our questions about living there. The farmers market on Friday and Saturday is amazing. I would not consider it a destination on its own for a tourist.

Its a bit of a larger city, and its a bit of a more "urban" city. You see a few more seemingly homeless in the downtown area. The parking was very frustrating. We attempted to use the app shown on the signs (elParking) to pay for parking. When prompted we were only allowed to add USD$$$ to our "wallet". But when we went to pay for parking it said we had to pay in CRC (Colones). We had no way to convert or pay for parking - only a prompt to contact customer service. We messaged and we still havent heard back from elParking (4 days ago). There are lots of places to hang and eat around downtown. We hung at Vons for a while which is sort of a ice cream and coffee chain. It was delicious. We ate at El Patio and it was excellente. The second time I have eaten there.
The staff is amazing and the service is great. The kitchen helpers were very friendly and the food was amazing. Our tour guide Edgardo brought us to awesome destinations, we learned a lot about Grecia, the surrounding cities, and Costa Rica itself. The room we got was the El Nido, we really liked it and it was spacious enough for me and my partner. I wouldn't recommend this room if you're a light sleeper because of the motorcyles, dogs, and chicken noises. We personally didn't mind it because we're used to it.
basic but well equipped apartment. very warm welcome by Luis (and family), the personal contact was great, making use of the big garden, lending the bbq, and the amazing view (day and night) from the viewpoint-terrace was the perfect place to reminisce during the last days of our 5 week trip.
Grecia was quite nice, where Luis recommends some nice activities, visiting Féria del agricultor was a great experience.
convenient/close to the airport.
I like the fact that they cared about their clients, attention to details, perfect communication.
the hotel is managed by an American with a small team is locals, which would probably explain the service. we felt welcomed and safe!
they did our laundry and we were able to pay with a credit card. it costed us 15$
breakfast was good too! it takes them a bit of time to prepare but everything is fresh. if you’re in a rush plan your time wisely.
Accommodation lovely sitting area in the garden where breakfast is served. Breakfast was served, however we were cooked a delicious home cooked breakfast, one of the best we have had in Costa Rica. The room was large and clean with a large bathroom. The hotel has a fairly good location if your goal is to visit Poas National Park or the waterfalls around Bajos del Toro.
Hotel was a bit remote, but well worth the drive.
The View was amazing! It was very peaceful and easy to relax .
Javier, the manager was very friendly, knowledgeable about the area and very professional.
Although we didn't get a chance to use it during this trip, appreciate the hot plate and kitchen supplies in order to prepare or reheat meals.
Situated within walking distance from central Grecia, the accommodation is located in a beautiful and tranquil estate. Modern independent apartment with everything needed for short to medium stay. Most of all, the family was very welcoming and accommodating. A special thanks to Norman who went out of his way to ensure that our stay was exceptional.
The Garden Grecia was our first stop in Costa Rica, after 24 hours on the road and a terrible experience in car rental in San Jose airport. Ronaldo and his wife were very nice and helpful. The rooms were comfotable, with a very nice garden. We met the beautiful Costa Rica. We will return on our way back to the airport.
The property is beautiful, the gardens are well taken care off and you will spot a lot of birds.
Breakfast was great, typical costarican breakfast, fresh made in front of you by the property owners.
The room we stayed in had a jacuzzi, which is good after a day sightseeing and exploring the attractions near Grecia.
Very nice facilities, wonderful property with wide range of fruit trees, hosts Norman and luis, and parents best hosts ever, always there if yu need anything. I will be returning that's for sure.
15 min walk to downtown grecia, Thank-you for my last 3 days in Costa Rica Norman and Luis. Your friend John 🇨🇦
The location turned out to be awesome. The Bed and breakfast is situatated on a river and the grounds have been landscaped beautifully. It was amazing to sit on our balcony and listen to the water and enjoy the flowers and folige. The hosts were terrific. I'll definitely stay there again when in Grecia.
The hotel is very lovely. It is clean with a nice little kitchen in the room. The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was really nice. And in the morning you can hear all the birds in the trees surrounding the hotel rooms. It was an absolute pleasure to stay there.
Gorgeous grounds. An oasis just minutes from Grecia centro. The room was spacious and had a fantastic terrace with a beautiful view of the river. There were birds galore. The staff was so friendly and kind, and the breakfast was nothing short of amazing!
The rooms (casitas) are cozy and clean with very spacious bathrooms. Great water pressure with hot/cold available. The hotel staff is extremely accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The property is beautiful with lovely mountain views.
Javier was extremely friendly and gave us tons of tips for our vacation. The nature around the hotel is breathtaking and our room was clean and contained everything we could need. From the patio we had an amazing view.
Great place and simple place to stay in Grecia. The woman at the reception was very friendly and helpful.
Thanks to her if you had a great dinner nearby. Near to the local market where we had a perfect breakfast.
Great hostel with a great, cozy restaurant and patio in the middle of Grecia! Secured parking close by! Friendly staff. Very standard rooms but absolutely perfect for this price range! And very clean!
A fantastik hotel, very good organisations.
Very 3 nice ladies
P.S

Lovely location, best if you have a car, quiet area outside of Grecia. Wi-Fi worked well, restaurant was good, breakfast was good, the owner was fabulously kind and attentive.
Fantastic place, super friendly and creative environment. They regularly host local live music, and the band I saw there was phenomenal. Awesome little place in Grecia!
Property’s location is fantastic if you have to be moving around Grecia downtown . Blanc haus is surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees, the area is very calm.
