Somewhat secluded beach area about 15 minutes away from Samara. Great for couples or small families wanting to get away from it all. Playa Carrillo is a beautiful calm beach. There aren't many shops and limited choices for restaurants in the immediate area, but that's part of the charm of the town.

The beach is quiet and beautiful.
The beach is quiet and beautiful. There are no restaurants, but you can grill, if you have the patience. In the town, there are few restaurants, with delicious food (I highly recommend Hula Jungla). If you need to use the bus, you can take it every hour.

Perfect if you want to get away from the touristic beaches...
Perfect if you want to get away from the touristic beaches like Samara that are dedicated to American tourists.
Beware of the crocodiles though, we were told a family lives in the river next to the beach and sometimes, when the weather is stormy, you can see them swimming in the ocean :-D
The whole stay was just amazing. Keys were dropped by the owners who took their time to explain us everything and gave us tips for the area. Location is
perfect, you have the ocean right in front of the property and the beach is very quite with very few people.
La Caravana concept is very unique and special. In the camper you have all you need, it’s super comfy. Also you have for yourself whole green garden with bbq area, cactuses and extra toilets and shower. We enjoyed a lot!We will try to be back!!
Such lovely welcoming people, I really liked that it was family owned. Super tasty vegan breakfast options which I appreciated. Great that can use the pool & have breakfast opposite at the sister place Casa Buenavista. I liked that Carrillo is quieter & chilled & out of the way with a beautiful beach. Went for a run each morning along the coast. Travelling & sight seeing was made easier when I rented a car so I would recommend that. Thank you so much for the stay & the care taken.
The owner and his wife are hands down the best hosts I have ever had.
He creates a great atmosphere at the hotel and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Breakfast made each morning was spectacular
Room had great AC and wonderfully warm shower
There is parking onsite
It is so close to Carillo beach which is so much more tranquil than Sámara Beach. But within a short driving distance of Sámara if you want to go be part of the things going on over there!
We had an amazing time at the hostels! The cozy atmosphere, along with a fantastic restaurant and bar where the owners and Alejandro crafted amazing drinks, made our stay truly memorable. They created a lively atmosphere, and being just a 4-minute walk from the beach, we enjoyed the best sunsets in all of Costa Rica! Highly recommend this place – we'll be back soon for sure! Perfect destination for our honey moon!
Roxana the owner, is a gem ! She helped us with our rental, she accommodated with changes to our reservation, she gave us a ride to discover a hidden gem near her hotel. She and her staff were 10/10 PLUS BONUS points for the succulent steak.house OMG the best meals we had during our entire trip to Costa Rica.
Such amazing owner that sets a really beautiful and chill vibe !!
Since we were on work we did not spent much time at the Hotel but customer service was very well managed and appointed
Thanks to Lourdes and Staff to have made our Stay very pleasant
A good loving care makes you feel like a true guest
Breakfast good and all the facilities very functional
Gracias por todo
It’s a nice place for the price, a nice staff offered us breakfast but he gave us 2 cups of coffee for free instead, because there is a nearby restaurant and we just had our breakfast there. There is also a nearby gasoline station, and a grocery store from the property and also near playa Carrillo
The hotel was very nice and the staff was so helpful and kind. Even tho the hotel is located a 10 minute walk from Carillo Beach and a 10 minute drive from Samara Beach, I would still highly recommend this hotel for a stay in this area. The staff will in case help with booking of taxi etc.
I liked the location, the size of the room, and my kids liked both swimming pools. The property is located within walking distance of the beach. Roxanna is very welcoming and knowledgeable about the region. The restaurant has great dining options.
The hosts are super friendly and the restaurant and breakfast is good.
The garden and swimming pool are really nice and we liked to sit and relax there.
It is close to the beaches.
The service is totally fine and good fibe.
The morning breakfast was free and consistent. The host was very nice and accommodating. The proximity to the beach was amazing. For being quite a rural area, good choice of restaurants near by.
Very nice property in a good location. Little bit of a walk to the beach but it’s lovely. Nice pool right on the property. Restaurant options and a little grocery store nearby.
The owners/managers were just lovely, lovely people. The view was out of this world. the pool was so much fun. We could walk to the beach which was great.
