Albany , the "Hub of the Valley", is the 11th largest city in Oregon. It is located 69 miles south of Portland, and 44 miles north of Eugene in the Willamette Valley. The city straddles the Willamette River and along the eastern side of the Calapooia River at its confluence with the Willamette. The city is noted for its collection of historic buildings and districs.
