Started out in the 1970's as just another struggling Pizza Place. But, over the years, they have grown, and grown, and grown. Catering, Quality Dining, Entertainment on Weekends, Special Events. The service is what stands out. The Schiano family are very generous to the Hackettstown Community. Definitely a Hackettstown institution. WiFi hotspot.

Famous for the giant "Golden Skillet" sign and it's witty sayings. Picnic tables are outside right along the beautiful Musconetcong River.

  • El Primo Restaurant, 113 Main Street, 908-852-1110. 7 Days, 6 AM-10PM. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner - Most people get the spanish buffet, but they can make many dishes from scratch - Spanish or some American dishes (Hamburgers, Wraps, etc.). There aren't many other places around to get fried plantains. The employees speak spanish and english. The managers are fluent English speakers. It's a struggling town with some hostility from some of the long time residents, and El Primo is very new (since early 2008), but there is a market for this kid of Restaurant in Hackettstown. If you are from a spanish speaking country, or if you want to just practice speaking spanish, this is one place to go.

Spanish Food - Pleasant Atmosphere Right across the hall from What in the World Crafts Shop - Nice place to go and have a meal with friends, new and old, and talk about your travels around the world.

Last count was 11 total Pizzerias in Hackettstown and it's immediate surrounding areas. There are 2 Quick Chek convenience stores (with fast, cheap deli subs and sandwiches, and coffee that's pretty popular), plus several other, smaller convenience stores. A Starbucks is scheduled to come into the new Target store on Route 46, just over the river in Washington Township.

During the NFL season they provide free buffalo wings and hotdogs at halftime of MNF games, which you can watch on one of their many tv's. Taco Tuesdays have just begun, with large, hearty soft/hard shell tacos every Tuesday for $2 a piece.

This Quick Chek provides hot coffee, hot chocolate, tea. There is a substation to create a personal sub. Four soup pots. “Make your own milkshake”. Variety of snacks and meals to choose from when on the go.
  • Dunkin’ Donuts, a. 170 Mountain Ave, Hackettstown, NJ 07840, . Fax: 908-665-8069. Open Monday-Sunday. Conveniently located in the midst of Hackettstown. 24 hours. On the go. Accepts Dunkin’ Donut card. Serves bakery and beverages only. Smaller Dunkin’ Donuts but does have a small seating area.

Dinner: Tuesday-Sunday 5:00pm-10pm. This restaurant serves Thai cuisine. There are traditional Thai soups, appetizers, entrees. Lunch portions a smaller than dinner portions. A quaint restaurant split up into two rooms of dining. The bright colors and festive decorations give the restaurant a wonderful atmosphere. The restaurant offers “Dim Sum” Saturday-Sunday 11:00am-2:00pm. Dim Sum: “Small individual portions of food, usually served in a small steamer basket or on a small plate.”

Upstairs is a dining area and downstairs is used for hibachi. The dining room is open Monday- Thursday 11:30 am- 10:30 pm, Friday- Saturday 11:30 am- 11:00 pm, Sunday 12:00 pm- 10:00 pm. Closed between 3:00 pm- 4:30 pm (Except on Sundays and holidays). Fresh fish daily. A fairly large dining area with a chic and stylish décor. The hibachi grills are located on the first floor and have food being cooked right in front of you. The seating is about eight people per table. Hibachi meals include salad, soup, rice, noodles, shrimp, vegetables, and a choice of different seafood and poultry for the entrée for the Dinner meal. However, the lunch meal contains most of the same components but instead of getting both rice and noodles the customer chooses one or the other. The price of lunch hibachi is significantly less than the price of dinner hibachi. There are also lower prices for children ten and below.

Closed on Mondays and Sundays. Weekday specials: Tuesday- Friday soup or salad and any lunch sandwich ($ 8.00), Tuesday- Thursday soup or salad and any entrée ($20.00 and $17.00 for takeout). The Prickly Pear serves contemporary American cuisine. The restaurant offers catering services and also has cooking classes. Cooking classes teach how to prepare a four course meal (appetizer, salad, entrée, and dessert) all for forty dollars.
