One of the best parts about Fort Washington is the fact that it is in the middle of many places. Although Fort Washington is a very lovely place, it is what surrounds this quaint little town that makes it enjoyable to travel to.
A train ride into Center City is only thirty-minutes, and from here you can see the Liberty Bell, the famous Art Museum and even City Hall.
If history and landmarks are not what interest you, then there are such places as Manayunk, Chestnut Hill and Ambler. All of these places are close by an easy to get too. Shopping and eating is the main reason one may visit these places, but they are extremely interesting places to visit as well. If you would rather not shop in a conventional shopping mall, then there are places such as Manayunk, Chestnut Hill and Ambler to go to. Each of these places have one-of-a-kind restaurants and shops which attract people from many places around the state.
Ambler is a five-minute drive away from Fort Washington, it has many stores and restaurants, but most of all the Ambler theater which is over a 100 years old. However, Ambler is known for its restaurants, such as Casey's Alley, Bridget's and Shanachie an Irish pub.
Manayunk is more of a 'bar-town' but still has much to buy.
Lastly, there is Chestnut Hill, a paradise for creative people are artists.
But the most well-known mall, the King of Prussia Mall which is one of the largest in the nation, is an easy thirty-minute drive. The SEPTA also makes a stop at this mall.
