WARNING: On 11th March 2011, the northern Tohoku region of Japan was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 9.0. A state of emergency has been declared for the region. There is still leakage from the nuclear power plant in Fukushima; however, outside of Fukushima Prefecture things are mostly back to normal and radiation is not a great concern. The scheduled power outages implemented after the quake have all been done away with, though train schedules continue to be reduced, even in Tokyo. Transportation in the Tohoku region is mostly back to normal with the exception of some portions on the eastern coast.
