Mission-Bernal Heights is a district of San Francisco, bounded roughly by the 101 freeway on the east and north, Dolores Street on the west, and I-280 on the south. Composed of the historic Mission and Bernal Heights neighborhoods, this area is noted for its ethnic diversity, in particular its large Hispanic community. Though the district is slowly gentrifying, many urban artisans and immigrants still make their home here, and the restaurant and nightlife scene here is among the best in the city and perhaps the most locally-oriented one.
