Not many true budget options exist. Good areas with lots of hotels are south of the train station (along Renmin street) en the north part of Hongqi street.

Jiaotong Bingan, 110 Renmin street (200 meters south of the trainstation). Double bed for Y 188 (in weekends), including Chinese breakfast. Not a bad place, free LAN in the room, bathroom's a bit old. Nice staff but not a word of English.
898 Business Hotel. Located on 898 Beijing road (on the north-east part of the intersection of Renmin street and Beijing street, about 500 meters south of the station). Possibly the best deal in town. Y 148 for a double room, with tv and a computer with free internet (LAN). The hotel is new and most of the rooms have been renovated recently (as of july 2011), especially the bathrooms, which are quite nice. Helpfull staff and they even take their time trying to communicate with you via a dictionary.
