Hefei does not have many attractions, but if you are using it as a stopping off point for other places then there are some pleasant places to see.
Lord Bao's Park (包公园; Bāogōngyuán). This a combination of a very pleasant park with tea houses, gardens, a lake, a tower and of course the restored underground tomb of Lord Bao himself as well as the tombs of his family. The park is worth walking through. The park is free, the attractions can be accessed for a through ticket of ¥50, you can also buy individual tickets for each attraction for ¥5-35. �
Shushan Mountain (蜀山; Shǔshān), (In the western part of Hefei). The mountain has a Television Tower on the top and can be seen from far away places. You can get there by taxi (around �25) ot by bus (any bus, which goes to the end of Changjiang Road (长江路) or Huangshan Road (黄山路)). The place is crowded on weekends and holidays, mostly younger people go there, because you have to make a long and difficult way up the mountain, climb thousand of steep stairs. You get the top when you are out of breathe and power, and feel you can not make any more step upwards. A beautiful scenery of modern Hefei opens up to your eyes from the very top and you can make a deep breathe of the stairs conqueror. �
Huaian Pedestrian Street (淮安路步行街), (within walking distance from Lord Bao's Park). A kind of shopping place with supermarkets of cheap clothes on both sides of the street. Here you can also find all kinds of restaurants. free. �
