Twice-daily, the Mountaineer Express ([PART bus #421 ) makes connections between Boone, Winston-Salem, and the Amtrak/Greyhound station in downtown Greensboro. Seven times a day, the Hickory Hop shuttle goes from Charlotte to Hickory (1 hour from Boone). Continuing taxi service is available, and shuttle service is planned.
