How to get in Fairport (New York)

Like most villages in New York, Fairport lies at the junction of two state automobile routes. State Route 250 (Main Street) runs north-south, leading from Webster to Victor. State Route 31F (Church Street) goes east-west, from Pittsford to Macedon. That said, though, the central business district of the village is centered not on the intersection of those two roads, but rather on the lift bridge that carries Route 250 over the Erie Canal. The dividing point between North Main and South Main is at the bridge, and that's where all of the action is in the village. Boaters can sail or motor directly into the heart of the village by taking the canal, with mooring available between the Main Street and Parker Street bridges.
