People coming by train have a convenient train head at Kodai road. At 5 A.M a private bus from kodai road starts to Periyakulam. Kodai road is at about 45 km form periyakulam. If you miss that bus, dont worry . You can take a bus to Batlagundu and from there you can reach Periyakulam easily.
Another way is to get down at Madurai or Dindigul Railway station.
