Visit Sarre Windmill which is about 15 minutes drive out of the city. One of the few working windmills in the area, which still grinds corn.
Walk to Whistable along the . The walk takes you up through the University and then along a disused railway track which was previously used to carry goods from Whistable to the North into Canterbury. It is not for the feint hearted (being around 6 miles long) however after a stop in Whistable it is possible to get a bus back to Canterbury (costing around £3). Crab and Winkle Way is also a cycle path.
