  • Visit Sarre Windmill which is about 15 minutes drive out of the city. One of the few working windmills in the area, which still grinds corn.
  • Walk to Whistable along the . The walk takes you up through the University and then along a disused railway track which was previously used to carry goods from Whistable to the North into Canterbury. It is not for the feint hearted (being around 6 miles long) however after a stop in Whistable it is possible to get a bus back to Canterbury (costing around £3). Crab and Winkle Way is also a cycle path.
