Carson County Square House Museum, 5th and Elsie (Hwy 207), 806-537-3524. This 14-building complex houses many artifacts from the pioneer days, particularly focusing on the history of the railroad in the area, for which Panhandle was an important stop. A number of macro-artifacts include a preserved pioneer dugout house and an early railroad car. The original square house dates from 1880.
