Most visitors bound for Cannes will arrive first at Nice International Airport. From here there are a number of travel options, there is a half-hourly Express Coach to Cannes Centre via the A8 motorway, at a cost of around €15. Or, operate a regular shared door-2-door transfer service between Nice Airport and accommodation in Cannes. Departures are every 45 minutes and cost €20 per seat. Not the cheapest way in, but a lot less than Nice's notoriously expensive taxis at around €80.
A more middle road is the the train (SNCF) between Nice-St. Augustine and Cannes. Tickets can be purchased in advance by English speakers at or by French speakers at . If you choose to wait till the last minutes, you should buy tickets 2 days in advance at the train station to avoid the train being full during peak season (August). Trains run every half hour, take approximately a half hour and cost $11 for economy class. There are the normal/occasional unforeseen delays that are unavoidable, but normally the trains are fairly reliable. Do be aware that strikes are common, anticipated and highly publicized; simply check the news papers before paying for tickets.
The cheapest way in is the TAM 200 bus that runs from Nice to Cannes via Nice Airport Terminal One ( a free shuttle operates to link Terminals One and Two). The journey is frustratingly long - it takes about 2 hours and stops every few hundred yards and has no special luggage facility. However the cost at only €1 is so low it attracts many travellers even though it may involve standing the whole journey.
