There are many bars in Chongqing, but most are underpopulated. Generally the local bottled beer is ¥10, and the variety includes several local beers and even Guinness (expensive) on occasions. If you go to one of the small restaurants to eat, you can buy bottles of local beer at ¥3 upwards.
As a warning, some bars have recently adopted a less pleasant method to send pretty girls to accompany and entertain you, and then ask for huge additional sums when you leave. Take care.
Marriot Sports Bar. Several branches offer the closest thing to proper beer, but be sure they get your beer from the pump and not the slop tray. A pint of Guiness will cost you ¥58, but during happy hour you can get two for one. Foosball, Pool and Darts available. �
Irish Pub Hong Ya Dong. This new place is a winner with a nice beergarden and great beers on tap.

The original and one of a very limited number of expat Bars in Chongqing. Located in the Nanping area of Chongqing, Dee Dee's Bar is a regular hangout for expats and locals alike. Tuesdays and Fridays do tend to be busier nights with the regulars, however good company will be found throughout the week. Full range of local and imported beers available (Speckled Hen, Newcastle Brown, Bud, Heineken, Guinness, Corona all available). Some great food to soak up the alcohol also available - the MEGA Burger being one of the favourites alongside the best Fish & Chips available in Chongqing. (29.537980,106.563850)�

Cici Park, Lingjiangmen (Next to the nr. 2 hospital on the square after climbing the stairs). Serve reasonably priced drinks and has a foosball table, good atmosphere and offers some hallucinating material! 12 for a pint. �
Outside beer gardens, (Above the underground arcade). Serve reasonably priced drinks and is always crowded with good atmosphere and live premiership matches on big screens, do not eat here though! �
Shapingba (west). A young people and university place and have many places for entertainment. �
The Harp Irish Pub, 9th floor Hongya Dong (near Carrefour, downtown Chongqing), . till 6AM. This is where all the expats in Chongqing now hang out. It is the only real western bar experience in the city, just opened in 2010. It has sports TV, three beers on tap, and 36 imported beers, 16 single malt scotches, 15 vodkas, 8 gins, etc. Great food, and English speaking staff make this a winner in Chongqing. �
A Taste of Singapore Restaurant & Cocktail Bar, Shapingba CapitaRetail Building 5th Floor (Opp Wang Fu Jing in Shapingba Sanxia Guangchang). 10am - 11pm. South-East Asian food with little charms on the menu like real FISH n CHIPS & American Ribs. It's the hang-out for most foreign students & teachers in the Shapingba area. Beer (5) food ave (38). Half price cocktails every Friday & killer parties like Halloween & Xmas when all the troop gather there like family. �
