Amtrak's Carolinian and Piedmont lines stop in Durham. The rail station is currently located on Chapel Hill St downtown, but a new Durham Train Station will open in June 2009 in the 1897 Walker Warehouse, the oldest example of neo-romanesque warehouse first built by the by the then American Tobacco Trust. The new station is on Main Street, close to the DATA bus system's new downtown terminal.
