Currently there are no airports on the island, although plans to build one were announced in July 2010. From Britian, however, it is possible to catch a charter flight from RAF Brize Norton, in Oxfordshire to Ascension Island and pick up the RMS St. Helena from there for a two- to three-day journey to Jamestown.
