How to get in Brentford
Brentford is well served by major arterial roads and by public transport links.
By Road: Brentford is easily accessed from the point where London's North Circular and South Circular Roads (the A406 and A205) meet at Kew Bridge, a mile away. It is also only a mile from the M4 motorway junction at the Chiswick Roundabout.
By Rail: Brentford is served by South West Trains running frequent services from London Waterloo station. Journey time is approximately half an hour. The nearest London Underground stations are Boston Manor and Northfields to the north (both on the Piccadilly Line), and Gunnersbury to the east (on the District Line).
By Air: Brentford is close to London's Heathrow Airport, accessible either by road (M4) or Underground (Piccadilly Line stations). Indeed, many Heathrow employees and airline cabin crew live in Brentford, making the sight of uniformed staff a frequent occurrence in the town.
By Bus: Brentford is served by bus routes 237 and 267 (from the Westgate shopping centre and Hammersmith, respectively), while the no. 65 bus provides access from Ealing, Richmond-upon-Thames and Kingston in Surrey.
On Foot: Given its size, all of Brentford is accessible on foot. The Thames Path runs through Brentford, and it is well worth taking the riverside walk through Watermans Park if approaching from the east, then taking Dock Road to the Thames Lock on the Grand Union Canal in order to explore the canal's towpath scenery between Brentford and Hanwell.
