Indoor and outdoor exhibits and habitats which cover a wide range of reptilian, amphibian, and aquatic species. Examples of exhibits include the beluga whale exhibit, penguin exhibit, and sea lion exhibit. In addition, there are many tanks containing coral, sharks, reef-fish, stingrays, and other creatures. Some exhibits are also interactive, such as the shark and ray “touch-pools.” Amongst these exhibits are a number of special events like the daily Marine Theater shows and, currently, a shipwreck exhibit. A living history museum on 17 acres. Old historic port used in the filming of many movies, including Amistad. Adults $17.50, Children $12.
  • Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center, 110 Pequot Trail, Ledyard, (800) 411-9671, . 10AM-4PM. Adults $15, ages 6-15 $10.
  • Olde Mistick Village, A fun, outdoor shopping area with food, entertainment, and lots of shopping. With over 60 shops, this is a fun place to go on a family outing if you have nothing to do.
  • Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, 109 Pequotsepos Road, Phone: 860-536-1216, Fax: 860-536-2983. Mon-Sat 9AM-5PM, Sun 10AM-4PM. Open year round, this natural history museum and live animal exhibits display Connecticut’s local habitats; great for kids.
  • Mystic Ballet, Inc., 325 Mistuxet Ave, Phone: 860-536-3671. Local ballet company that puts on regular performances and acts throughout the year.
  • Steamboat Sabino at Mystic Seaport, Mystic Seaport, 75 Greenmanville Avenue, Phone: 860.572.5315. Mid May- Columbus Day, Sun-Thur 10:30 AM-6:30 PM. The oldest, wooden, coal-fired steamboat still in operation offers historic views along the scenic Mystic River. Half-hour cruises $5.50 Adult, $4.50 Youth (age 6-17), 90 Minute cruise $12 Adult, $10 Youth (age 6-17).
  • B.F. Clyde’s Cider Mill, 129 North Stonington Road, Phone: 860-536-3354. Aug-Dec, Sun-Mon, 11 AM-6PM. View an engineering relic at work while enjoying some of the freshest cider around; also enjoy famous “hard” ciders of various types.
