Local television, satellite TV channels are available. English language books and magazines are sold in some bookstores. International newspapers are being printed in Khao Lak via the NewspaperDirect Network and can be ordered or bought in local shops and Hotels. The KhaoLak Echo, a local bi-weekly English newspaper is available online as well as in print as a free pick up copy.
Landline telephone, satellite phone and all mobile phone systems are available. Internet can be had in hotels, resorts and internet cafés. There are Post Offices in Khukkhak, Khao Lak and Lam Kaen.
There are several internet cafes - one good one is at the Khao Lak Pearl Travel Agency (also known as Tour@Khaolak), some 50 m along the Soi (street) towards Nang Thong Beach, at the same named supermarket on the left. The Manager ไข่ (pronounced "Kai" - the "ai" as in "eye") speaks good English, and she is very helpful with enquiries.
