West Side (Los Angeles County) tourist information

West Side (Los Angeles County) tourist information

Westside Los Angeles is roughly bordered by Interstate 110 and 101 on the east, Interstate 10 on the south, Interstate 405 on the west, and the Santa Monica mountains on the north. Informally, this region may also include the beach cities of Santa Monica and Venice as well as Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Note that Culver City, Venice, Marina del Rey, and parts of Santa Monica are south of Interstate 10. LA's Westside is among the most prosperous, trendy, glamorous, and interesting locations in the world. Derided by social critics as life within the "Pleasure-Dome" for the opportunities to "live large", the Westside boasts fabulous food, homes, scenery, shopping, and people. Among the Los Angeles neighborhoods considered to be part of what locals call the Westside are Westwood (including the campus of UCLA), Brentwood, West LA, Century City, Pacific Palisades, Palms, Rancho Park, and Mar Vista. However, from a broader perspective the Westside includes all of the communities north of the South Bay, west of Hollywood/Mid-Wilshire, and south of the San Fernando Valley. These communities include: Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Culver City, Venice, Marina Del Rey, Playa Del Rey, Westchester and a sub-section of Westchester, Playa Vista.
