The Djibouti Palace Kempinski opened in November 2006 to host the COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) Meeting of the Council of Ministers. The Djibouti Palace Kempinski is today a landmark for the Republic of Djibouti on the East coast of the "Horn of Africa", offering true five star luxury service and standards throughout the palace and its state-of-the-art conference center. The property's first phase opened in November 2006 with an initial 177 rooms and suites, the full complement of the prestigious conference center s meeting rooms, several restaurants and an entertainment center.
